What is a Kinesiologist?
A Kinesiologist is a professional who has obtained a 4 year under-graduate degree at an accredited University. Typically, a Practicing Kinesiologist will specialize in the science of human biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology and how it is related to an individuals performance, function, and movement.
Kinesiologists play an integral role in enhancing athletic performance, injury prevention, and physical rehabilitation - often referred to Active Rehabilitation. Unlike personal trainers, a Kinesiologist is certified and educated to work with individuals that suffer from chronic health problems, including but not limited to - Cardiovascular Disease, Strokes, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, and lumbar disc herniation.
Kinesiologists can not only practice in an active care manner through exercise prescription but also with passive care, using passive therapy modalities such as Soft-Tissue-Release Therapy, Cupping Therapy, Athletic Taping, and Passive Stretch Therapy.
